Richmond Coastal Cleanup planned for Sept. 15

Richmond’s annual Coastal Cleanup will take place on Saturday, Sept. 15 from 9 a.m. to noon at Shimada Friendship Park in Richmond. The park is located at the end of Marina Bay Parkway.
    Participants are encouraged to wear old clothes that can get dirty and sturdy shoes for walking on rocks, sand and mud. Bring work gloves, a sweatshirt or jacket and sunscreen.
    There will be free barbeque for all participants at noon.
    The event is sponsored by the Watershed Project and the office of Contra Costa Supervisor John Gioia.
