East Bay Center for the Performing Arts
offers scholarships for youth

From the Globe Education Desk

The East Bay Center for the Performing Arts has announced that it is offering a limited number of full scholarships for its Advancement Diploma Program and Leadership Diploma Program during 2007- 2009. The scholarships are available to middle and high school students who have a strong interest in pursuing an arts education.
The center offers training in numerous disciplines and cultures. Classes start with a fiveweek intensive summer session and continue during the regular school year with classes and private and ensemble lessons tailored to the needs of each student.
Admission interviews for the program will be conducted in late May.
The scholarships are made possible in large part by a grant from the James Irvine Foundation. Yearly tuition would normally be $8,000 per student.
For more information or to request an application, contact Randall Wong at (510) 234- 5624, ext.15 or randall@eastbaycenter.org.
