The JP Division 1
East Bay Wranglers of the East Bay Warriors football
team recently received their honors of the 2006 Pop
Warner / NFL Players Super Bowl Sportsmanship Award.

The award is given to the team that best promotes
and demonstrates respect towards others through sportsmanship,
responsibility, good behavior and ethical behavior.
This talented organization was one of four teams
representing the Bay Area in the Pop Warner Bowl
in December and the only football team in the entire
U.S. to have two football teams in the National Championships.
They were also one of a handful of teams to have
both cheer and football teams at Nationals.
In addition,
they had four teams who brought home three trophies;
they were also featured on ESPN’s Top Ten Plays.
“This means a great deal and
I want to take my hat off to you the coaches, kids
and parents as you guys showed the country that Oakland
has great people and yes we can act like we’ve
been there before,” said president Fredrick D.
Pugh.
