Director named for Hillary Clinton
Northern California Campaign

By Z’ma Wyatt

The California State Clinton Campaign has announced the appointment of Oakland native, Maisha Everhart, to serve as the Northern California Director for the Hillary Clinton Campaign. Everhart will be based in San Francisco and will lead efforts to engage diverse communities to support Hillary Clinton.
“Maisha brings a wealth of experience to the California campaign, and I am pleased to have her join our team,” said Clinton.
Everhart brings extensive experience to the campaign having worked with local and state government officials including Oakland Mayor Ron Dellums, state Assemblyman Sandré Swanson (D-Oakland), San Francisco District Attorney Terrence Hallinan and Georgia state Senator Horacena Tate. As Nothern California Director, Everhart will work with local and state government officials and engage diverse communities to build support for Hillary Clinton.
“Hillary Clinton has the experience to change the direction of our country and she will be a champion for universal health care, economic development, technological innovation and protecting the environment,” Everhart said. “I will work tirelessly on this campaign to ensure Northern Californians vote for Hillary Clinton.”
Everhart was born and raised in the Bay Area. While growing up in Oakland, she went to Skyline High School where she was student body president and attended St. Paschals church with her family. After high school, she attended Spelman College graduating with a degree in political science and business management. Everhart went on to receive a law degree from Rutgers University School of Law. While in law school, Everhart worked as a student attorney at the Rutgers Urban Legal Clinic representing indigent clients.
Committed to public service, Everhart has volunteered for numerous organizations including East Bay Community Law Center's Criminal Records Clinic, counseled at Oakland's Needle Exchange Program, mentored and tutored at Operation P.E.A.C.E and was elected Student Representative on the Oakland Board of Education in 1995.
