Comcast hosts celebratory event for National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications

From the Globe Business Desk

Comcast hosted a gathering of the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) on Thursday at the Museum of the African Diaspora in San Francisco. The networking event was followed by a showing of The Color Purple.

The event recognized Comcast’s mentorship program, which pairs high-potential diversity candidates with senior-level mentors for one year. Mentees were celebrated for graduating from the program, and mentors were honored for their dedication.

The event was organized by Charlon Mcintosh, senior director of the Morgan Hill Call Center and treasurer of NAMIC, and co-chaired by Laurie Giammona, vice president of customer care for Comcast and vice president of NAMIC.
Attendees included NAMIC President Linda Crayton, regional senior director of government relations for Comcast; NAMIC mentor Hank Fore, Comcast area vice president for the East Bay; and NAMIC mentor Doug Schulz, Comcast area vice president for San Francisco and Peninsula cities.
NAMIC is planning a professional development conference for late February 2008.
For more information about NAMIC membership or events, call Linda Crayton
