to hold business roundtable

100 Black Men of the Bay Area will hold its annual conference, entitled “The African American Business Roundtable – Sealing the Deal,” on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at the Oakland Marriott Hotel from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a private reception until 7 p.m.

Key speakers at the roundtable include Oakland Mayorelect Ronald Dellums; Oakland Councilwoman Desley Brooks; Jerry Bridges, executive director of the Port of Oakland; Frank Tucker, president of Tucker Technologies Inc.; Samuel Wallace, the governor’s appointed small business enterprise officer; and Ingrid Merriwhether, president of Merriwhether and Williams Insurance Services.
    The featured luncheon speaker will be R. Donahue Peebles, the founder, president and CEO of The Peebles Corporation, an entrepreneurial real estate development company specializing in upscale property development, ownership and project management. Recognized nationally as a leader in real estate development, Peebles’ real estate portfolio includes luxury hotel, residential and commercial developments in South Florida and Washington, D.C.
    The event will include discussions on current and future business landscape in the Bay Area; financial lending programs; where and how to obtain insurance bonding to meet major contracting requirements; contracting and joint venture opportunities; and effective informal business infrastructures that support the revenue growth of black business.
