‘Go I-80’ Transit Summit planned for
West Contra Costa County

From the Globe
Transportation Desk

On May 11, the West Contra Costa Transportation Advisory Committee (WCCTAC) will host a public discussion on how to prioritize future transportation dollars (Measure J) and improve access and mobility for youth.
The summit will focus on examining transportation from a new point of view. Meeky Blizzard from Portland will serve as the keynote speaker. Blizzard has been involved with transportation and land use issues since early 1989 when, as a citizen activist, she questioned the wisdom of building the Western Bypass freeway through Washington County.
Prior to the public discussion, there will be an information fair with transit and transportation information for the community.
The 2006 “Go I-80” Transit Summit — the fifth transit summit to be hosted by WCCTAC — will be held on Thursday, May 11 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Maple Hall, located at 13831 San Pablo Ave. in San Pablo.
The event is free and accessible by AC Transit bus routes 72, 72R, 76 and L.
