Green Party presses Rep. Anna Eshoo
to support impeachment of top officials

From the Globe Political Desk

Members of the Green Party rallied outside the office of Congresswoman Anna Eshoo (DPalo Alto) urging her to back a resolution calling for the impeachment of President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.
Among the protestors was Carol Brouillet, a Green Party candidate for Congress in the 14th District who will challenge Eshoo in November.
The resolution, adopted by the Santa Clara County Greens this month, calls for the impeachment based on the administration’s use of warrantless searches and other civil rights violations in the U.S.; a war of “aggression” and the killing of civilians; the use of illegal weapons and torture in Iraq and Afghanistan; and the obstruction of evidence and “covering up the truth about the 9-11 attacks.”
