Chevron’s $50,000 donation translates into
50 more summer jobs for Richmond’s youth

RICHMOND - Chevron donated an additional $50,000 to the City of Richmond Mayor’s Summer Youth Employment Program.
“Chevron recognizes the value of providing Richmond youth with positive experiences and careerbuilding opportunities through summer employment” says Jim Brumfield, of Chevron’s Public Affairs Division.
Under the direction of the Richmond Workforce Investment Board, the Mayor’s Summer Youth Employment Program has raised $220,000 in contributions to provide employment for 220 Richmond teenagers.
Chevron’s contriinbution of $50,000 increases its support level from $25,000 to $75,000 and results in 50 additional summer jobs for teenagers in Richmond.
A special presentation of Chevron’s contribution was made at the Richmond City Council meeting on July 12, 2005.
